Just to be clear, I don't have the kind of cancer that gets cured. This is great news, but the likelihood is that the cancer will come back. The hope is that Herceptin will work for a good long time and with all this monitoring we'll catch any recurrence early and knock it right back.
I'll post up about the geeky details later.
Thanks for all the support and kind words over the past 6 months. It really helps knowing that I have so many people pulling for me.
What!? Really!?!! This is FABULOUS news!! Fabulous! Hooray!! Have I used enough exclamation points? If this kind of cancer doesn't get cured, what does it do? Go into remission? That means you'll get scanned every four months or so from here on out? You'll continue taking herceptin indefinitely? But wow! WAAAAYY better than cancer. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! OOMMGG!! OOOMMMGGG!!! OK, so that was annoying, but I felt that something playful was called for!! Seriously this is fabulous news. I certainly realize that in the big picture, things are still quite scary, but this good for now. Yes, here’s hoping that with regular check-ups and scans your cancer will be manageable.
ReplyDeleteWell, you are probably thinking that something more than fooling around with urban dictionary entries is called for and you would be absolutely right! I hope you got clearance (or, maybe didn’t even ask??) to crack open something tonight. Many raised glasses to you this evening!!
Yes, post the geeky stuff when convenient.
Yeah!!! Time to celebrate.
Take care.
Love,
Jane
FANTASTIC!! Fabulous news - just what we've all been praying for in our own particular ways of praying. You've been incredible, with the help of Keith, your docs, and the insurance. You've been through hell and back - all done with grace, this marvellous blog to keep us all informed, and as much good humor as would be possible. Time to celebrate and to do a lot of healing - your body has been through a lot. A great excuse for lots of lounging, pleasant exercise, good friends and laughter. An extra snuggle for the pussers and a lively game of catch with Red! Grinning and cheering, S, L, and N.
