you just got scheduled for brain surgery, what are you gonna do?

Just to clarify, I scheduled my ommaya port insertion for June 18th.  It should be much easier than my craniotomy in September, but I am going to get another hole drilled in my skull.

The picture is an all too subtle reference to the fact that Keith and I are off to Disney for the weekend.  There is a new ride associated with the Cars movies from Pixar and we're headed to a sneak peak.  It should be some silly fun!

  1. Eileen, Our thoughts and prayers remain with you during this latest. Your students really admire you,as do we all for your strength (it is still ok to be you, and express how crappy this cancer is.. I feel so angry at this) and your grace to continue to over come the frustrations. May the doctors take the best care of you and keep that wonderful brain of yours healthy!

The photos of your walks and the Bubble Maker on the previous blog entry are wonderful. I'd love to make the bubble maker myself!

  10. Thanks for the update! Good for you guys; sounds like a fun weekend heading off to Disney. Hope that the ride is fun. And, I did enjoy your minimalist reference!

Yes, any drilling in one’s skull is worrisome, to say the very least. Your spirits and perspective continue to amaze.

    Hugs from the Midwest!
    Love, Jane

  11. Eileen, Hope that your Disney weekend was great fun and helped you get through today's procedure. A few Cars rides is probably just want you needed. Now you need to schedule some more fun trips. The ommaya procedure does not sound great but it should make the delivery of chemo a lot easier. Lots of love from all of us, Ellen
